What a Canadian-made standard means for accommodations and tour operators pursuing GSTC Certification
GreenStep has made GSTC Certification more accessible for accommodations and tour operators through its Canadian-made, GSTC-Recognized Standard. Certification is quickly becoming an industry expectation: OTAs use it for search ranking, cruise lines and corporate travel buyers are setting supplier targets, and new laws in Canada and the EU require proof behind sustainability claims.

GreenStep becomes first North American-based organization to launch GSTC Certification for the tourism industry
GreenStep has become the first North American-based GSTC-Recognized Standard Owner to make GSTC Certification available to hotels, accommodations and tour operators. Through a partnership with RoyalCert, a GSTC-Accredited Certification Body, tourism businesses can now pursue independent third-party certification against the GreenStep Sustainable Tourism Standard, giving operators a globally recognized way to verify their sustainability practices and strengthen their standing with travellers, trade partners and booking platforms alike.
