GreenStep Accepted Into Competitive United Nations Accelerator Program
KELOWNA, BC CANADA – November 16, 2021
Kelowna-based GreenStep Solutions has been selected out of hundreds of applicants, as one of only ten companies in Canada to be accepted into the United Nations (UN) Global Compact Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) Ambition Programme.
GreenStep will participate in a six-month accelerator that aims to challenge and support participating companies of the UN Global Compact, including Suncor Energy and Bell Canada, in setting ambitious corporate targets and accelerating integration of the 17 SDGs into core business management.
As a company that supports small and medium enterprises to measure and improve their sustainability performance, GreenStep’s participation in this program will provide an exciting opportunity to more holistically integrate the SDGs into existing and future services, software and programs, as well as setting internal targets towards improving their own sustainability performance.
“At GreenStep we believe in leading by example,” says GreenStep CEO, Angela Nagy. “Our participation in the SDG Ambition Accelerator offers us an excellent opportunity to build upon our existing B Corp Certification commitments and set ambitious company targets towards achieving the UN SDGs . It also enhances our ability to integrate the SDGs more comprehensively into our existing programs and services, which are designed to push the envelope and encourage businesses to take action towards improving their sustainability performance.”
The SDG Ambition Accelerator Programme is available to businesses globally through the UN Global Compact to deliver progress at the pace and scale needed to shift the world towards a 1.5°C trajectory and achieve the SDGs by 2030. It will take urgent, scalable and multi-stakeholder action to dramatically accelerate progress, as well as bold leadership to transform business models and economies so they become more just and inclusive – leaving no one behind.
