Meewasin Valley Authority

Meewasin is a non-profit organization dedicated to conserving the Meewasin Valley, which encompasses the river valley and surrounding natural areas in and around Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. Its mission is to ensure a healthy and vibrant river valley by balancing human use with environmental stewardship. Meewasin manages a variety of conservation areas, trails, and parks, and offers educational programs, volunteer opportunities, and community events to engage the public in environmental protection and appreciation.

The organization is involved in initiatives such as invasive species management, prescribed fire programs, and targeted conservation grazing, as well as trail enhancements and recreational experiences like skating, walking tours, and eco-adventure camps. Meewasin also collaborates with local partners and acknowledges its location on Treaty 6 Territory and the Homeland of the Métis, honoring the traditional caretakers of the land.
