Kawarthas Northumberland (RTO8)

Regional Tourism Organization 8 (RTO8) is dedicated to supporting and growing the tourism industry in the Kawarthas Northumberland region of Ontario. The organization works collaboratively with industry partners to attract visitors, generate economic activity, and create jobs through experience development, investment, marketing, and workforce initiatives. RTO8 is known for programs such as the Trent-Severn Trail Towns, Taste of the Trent-Severn, and the Butter Tart Tour, all designed to highlight the region’s unique assets and promote sustainable tourism.

With a vision to make Kawarthas Northumberland a leading travel destination for soft outdoor and rural adventure by 2026, RTO8 focuses on balanced, year-round visitation that aligns with community development needs. The organization also emphasizes sustainability, Indigenous engagement, and agritourism, working closely with local businesses, First Nations, and community leaders to foster inclusive and authentic tourism experiences.
